Thinking of scratch building a building or two. Wonder what sheets other people use. Think plastic is way to go but how about windows? Will be OO gauge buildings.
And if anyone knows of any good youtube videos that would help, that would be great.

A number of materials can be used from card to wood. In plastic, plasticard comes to mind, but it needs to have additional internal support on larger areas to prevent it from warping. It is a great material for building with, especially bodies of locomotives and rolling stock.

The cheapest material to use is card and these is nothing wrong with it as done right it will look good.
Another good way is to use card and das modelling clay. Card forms the "Structure" of the building and Das is used to add the details of the stonework etc and give the structure a form of presence.
And don't forget materials like foam sheets. If one buys a pizza these can come with the material to experiment with. One can indent and scribe these sheets to form a convincing stone or brick finish.
