Confused on connector blocks

I have just received these large connector block pairs (lower pair in picture) thinking they were the same size as the ones I purchased quite a while ago. (Above in the picture)

These larger ones are no good as they need to match the original blocks but I don't know what the difference is between the 2 sizes with most listed without dimensions.
Does anyone know?
I'm thinking the difference is possibly amperage with the larger blocks rated at a stated 6A.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263730714333 ... 2749.l2649

The thing is, I cannot seem to find the smaller connector block pairs other than the 6A rated blocks, which, when dimensions ARE available, seem to be the same size as the larger 6A blocks I have received anyway. I'm at a bit of a loss to find matching blocks. :?
Thanks

You need to accurately measure how far apart the pins are and then look for something with the same "pitch". The pitch has nothing to do with the current rating.

Unfortunately they do not mention pitch when they sell these things on eBay. Look at somewhere like Farnell.
https://uk.farnell.com/c/connectors/ter ... nal-blocks
You can filter the search by pitch and number of poles.

When you find the one that looks right, check the datasheet for details such as pin size and current rating.
e.g. You can see by the datasheet that the HYPS-01712 (the lower one in your picture) has a 10mm pitch.

It's a bit of a ballache but wouldnt you be better biting the bullet and replace the old narrow block with the new wider ones rather than trying to find another half of the narrow set?

Thanks Ironduke. I shall do that. :)
Just having a quick look on the Farnell site it seems the only connecting pair they sell is the HYPS-01712.
Thanks

Just for completeness, measuring the smaller blocks pitch, it's roughly 8mm.
Now to try and find them.
Thanks

But I said to measure accurately!

Anyway, it's probably this one
https://uk.farnell.com/camdenboss/ctsn4 ... dp/7875070
and the female half is
https://uk.farnell.com/camdenboss/ctsn4 ... dp/7875061

also rapid sells them as a pair https://www.rapidonline.com/camdenboss- ... 6a-21-2496

Well...roughly accurately. I was using callipers.

Thanks again Ironduke. I was hunting trying to find them (as a pair) and the cheapest place looks like ebay as I only need 3 and the Rapid website only allows a minimum order of 5
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383544352671 ... 2749.l2649

Now ordered. :)
Thanks

This has been a problem for at least the last 25yrs. Before I retired we made some breakout boxes for use in a computer communications course. We did a proper job on it, sourced a siutable box, designed a PCB and fitted it with a terminal block that just fitted. We cut a long slot on one side so that the wires could be fastened into the connector strip.
When we came go run the course again I reordered all the parts, when they arrived I gave em to the trainee and said make em up like this one. He was soon back "they don't fit" sure enough the didn't. We just couldn't get the more compact ones anywhere.
In the end we were driven to go around all the jobs we done before using the short blocks, swapping them for the longer ones until we had enough for the job.
Only got one enquiry as to what we were doing, blinded him with science, demonstrating how there was a greater surface path between the conductors on the new ones. Giving a reduced risk of creepage. Great to see that nothing has changed.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

Well done Bufferstop. We always said BS baffles brains - but not for long.
