Dcc decoder plugs

Hi all
Is there a tool for putting in an removing the dcc decoder plugs.
Obviously you can’t pull the wires an a small screw driver applies a twisting motion.
Tweezers dont seem to grip them so wondering if there a specific tool

No specific tools that I am aware of.
The Next 18 is the best in terms of ease, no tool required, very soft click in, click out.
6 pin and 8 pin are OK with fingers.
21 pin MTC is a bit of a bear both to locate and to remove. No need to push fully home, engaged is enough! For removal if pushed fully home, I use a flat screwdriver to ease up each end slightly until finger grip liftable.

Have a look at the various chip extractor tools, you either want one that engages on the two ends, or one with comb teeth to go between the pins. The different types come in two versions, professional which cost far too much for our purposes or cheapo plastic ones that are adequate for our purposes as long as they aren't abused.

Just slide a thin-bladed screwdriver underneath and gradually prise up. Fingers are fine - they protect the wires - but you risk bending the pins!

erm..... That item number is not a chip removal tool. It's a Loco-to-Tender plug connector and wire.

What exactly are you trying to remove? The loco to tender plug or the DCC decoder plug??
The tool linked too is for removing the tender to loco plug and has nothing whatsoever to do with a DCC decoder plug, which is what you asked about and placed a subject heading here!
