Welcome to the forum Pierre,
We are a nice friendly group here. There are many very talented model makers should you have any questions. I'm looking forward to seeing any photos you may have.

Wow, there surely cannot be a single RTR loco or coach that suits! Maybe the occasional wagon? Are there useful kits, or is it scratchbuilding that's required?

Slightly easier then, with a decent amount of Midland derived LMS traction from Farish. Are there kits for the Midland (and whatever other pre-group) coaches that would have been present at that time? (In general this is a difficult aspect of modelling, BR in 1948 found that half of its coach stock was of pregroup design origin; very few RTR models available to represent this.)
