Mcbuffys (OO, DC, Now End to End, U Shape, Size?? ")

Post by BuffyMcBuffer »

Thought i needed to start a thread in Construction now seen as i am building the layout so the planning thread is now finished

ok so i have changed some base board dimensions around so i could get a curve down at the other end

Image

which make is longer but hey i have the room

got the bridge and track pinned down for the next part

Image

Image

and then i managed to get dropper power wires to the track and properly nailed down

no test run has happened yet as i haven't connect the power to this side of the track.

managed to connect the power and switch points up to the first part of the track but testing didn't go too well

apart from that nothing else has happened

Ok so I have been occupied with the change of the family dynamics plus the summer activities and haven’t had much time to get on

But I have been chipping away in the background

Yes the little one loves it, he’s got a motorless engine he likes to push around the track switching the point with the switches (got to tidy the wires underneath up)

So I got myself a ion generator and knocked up a static device which performs great

I have applied grass to the board and also don’t some ballastin

Also made some hedges up to put on the scenery

Got a field made up and looking at a farm building to put on there possibly

Coming along well! Nice to see. I've been tossing up buying a static grass applicator, I sprinkle it from a herb container which works ok... nothing compared to the propper device though. Yours looks like its working well.

I downloaded a plan to make an applicator using an electric fly swatter, which looks like it could work. Trouble is, I can't find an electric fly swatter! :?

Try the Pound Shop. Got swatter and pack of three strainers from there so mine cost £2 and I still have two strainers for hand sieving scatter.

as Brightonman said fly swatters from pound shop, however mine didnt have any in (wrong time of year) so i purchansed mine off the internet (cost more :( ) the swatter thing it just didnt have enough kick in it to produce good enough results, perhaps i was doing something wrong, so i bought a purpose built ion generator for static grass and build the box, sieve tubes and wired it all myself, easy
