What do you want from a model railway shop?

model railway shops

Hi I've not been doing anything with my layout, my wife died I went to Australia for a month I've met some one and moved from Essex to Coventry, so I want to start a new layout but I am having trouble finding model shops there's a big one in Lincoln but that's over 2 hours by train my partner would drive me but I don't want to bother her can anyone point me any where I don't mind train bus and walking .

From your oroginal post I'm not sure exactly where you are, you mention Lincoln but would seem as though you are in Coventry.

If it's the latter (Coventry) then there's one in Leamington Spa (a ten minute train ride from Coventry) and several dotted around the outskirts of Birmingham. One suggestion would be Footplate in Kidderminster which is just down the road from the railway station. Take the train to New Street, walk across to Snow Hill and then train to Kiddy. Whilst there you can visit the Severn Valley Railway.

Thank you I am in Cheylesmore a part of Coventry, I did go to Lincoln from Essex but I didn't realise how far it was from Coventry . I do buy online but prefer to support shops my knowledge of the erea will improve over time thank you for the information .

The site linked above lists two in Coventry one in Radford and one in Binley. The one in Binley seems to specialise in large stuff only listing LGB 10mm scale and above. if you are getting around by train the one in Sutton Coldfield is ok and it's only 5 minutes from the station, been there several times.
