Where's the Hornby R3615 Peckett gone?

Post by End2end »

I've looked on Hornby's website and the R3615 Peckett is not listed.
Other Peckett locos are. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/catalogsea ... ?q=peckett
Was there something wrong with this model?
Thanks

Why dont you email Hornby and ask them. I expect they will tell you if there is a mistake or if they have removed anything from sale.. But to behonest, if Hornby remove anyhing from sale they dont have to say why, do they? It is their property, it is up to them if the dont want to sell it for some reason.

It's just that it's a very recent model to suddenly dissappear.
Thanks

Perhaps the run has sold out. They will do another run when they think the majority of them will sell very quickly.

A quick search on Google took me to Hornby's website which had this to say:

"Sorry the Peckett Works Livery No.560/1893 0-4-0ST - Era 2 is no longer available...
We're sorry, the website has sold out of this item and we're not expecting any more stock."

See for yourselves at https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/peckett-wo ... 4-0st.html

That means that Hornby have no stock, all sold either to retailers or individual owners.

Because their website works so quickly and easily I always go here first to see what's still available new:

Retailers earlier this year were heavily discounting that loco so I would imagine there are still some to found albeit probably not at those low prices, Model Railways Direct and Rails being two of the hefty discounters who have now sold out. Gaugemaster, Hattons and Hereford for example, all have stocks.

Many thanks for all the replies members.
I managed to get a brand new one today for £85 at the REC Woking exhibition.
This will need a decoder and further research into which one will be posted in the DCC forum thread here:
