Association of Wessex MRC's Exhibition 5 & 6th January

Post by Dad-1 »

I should have put this in ages ago.

This coming weekend it's the second "Frome" exhibition by the Association
of Wessex Model Railway Clubs.
I shall be there with Both HS-II shunting for visitors to drive, and "Thomas
and Friends Visit Bride Bay" another layout for punterrs to drive any age
welcome.

Last year the show was a great success - It must have been as I spent all
the Saturday on the desk taking entry money and was very busy !!
This year I'm not even driving ..... Just supervising !!!

Happy to see anybody who may have followed one of my builds.

Is this at the one at the cheese and grain? I'm going on sunday with the kids.

(And a small folding stepladder so they can see!)

Hi Hymirl & Lysander,

Yes I'll be there on both days. I'll probably leave the shunting layout to other club members
while I look after the Thomas layout, I'm given to understand I'm more patient with our
little drivers !!

Oh yes it is the Cheese & Grain, in the central car park of Frome, about 50 miles each way
for me.

It was a good show, I liked it it a lot, Kids were happy, both had fun at your Thomas layout. It was nice to meet you and I fully agree its a simple layout but its very effective and has everything you could ask for.

(Looks like I'll spending some money at tootally thomas at some point).

Lower Trumping deserves mention as well, nice layout with a fun sheep spotting side activity and lolipop rewards.

Hi Hymirl,

We had a good weekend as well, lots of happy faces and no breakdowns

One disadvantage of running a layout is that I have to rely on others as
to the overall quality of the exhibition. Initially I was a little concerned
that being hidden away on the second floor we might not be found, but
we were busy.

Really pleased you enjoyed the day and remember the odd "Thomas"
themed present may be remembered by the little ones for their whole life !!

Ahh and Lysander,

So pleased to meet up after so many years of being just an On-line contact.
