As the subject says, my intention is to change 37401 Mary Queen... into 37558 Avro Vulcan...
Following advice online I was using the cocktail stick and nail remover method, I have removed the tampo's and my first attempt photos are shown. I think it need a bit of tidying up but I do feel it looks patchy. What the thoughts fro those who have done this much more than myself? Happy for some feedback.

Looks good.

Re: Renumbering, The First Attempt
It looks more realistic with the sheen. I would extend that effect to more parts of the body. Just have a look at some photos of the real locomotives to see how they weathered, and which bits got cleaned better than other bits (or which bits got dirtier!).
Re: Renumbering, The First Attempt
Thanks, wasn't too sure if it was too harsh on the body work. I done a transfer test on an old coach to practice that too. For sealing the transfer I used a Matt varnish but when it dried I didn't like the look of it and so I thin k I'll buy a gloss varnish to test that.
This particular Loco once renumbered will have some weathering and most likely a full gloss finish, I do like the current lord Hinton and Avro Vulcan with DR'S. Always very clean and great paintwork finish.
