List Of P.O. Wagons?

Post by mahoganydog »

Hi all,

Anyone know if there is a list of what has been made including limited editions? I've suddenly come across several very useful ones and there must be more that have been made.

Ideas anyone? I've tried wikipedia but the list is blank and even after several pages of (varied) search results there was no list.

I'm not sure where they get them done, albeit they are all Dapol but there are a few places that commission limited edition P.O. wagons who I have bought from or know of, as well as the main range/catalogue listed P.O. wagons.

Burnham and District MRC
Robbie's Rolling stock
Ballards
1ePromotionals
Wessex Wagons
West Wales wagon works

There are others, I just cannot remember them at the moment.
I wonder if Dapol keeps seperate lists for all the limited edition wagons they supply as well as their generic off the shelf range?
You may need to contact Dapol directly for those.
Hope it helps.

I've just remembered, Dapol have also made P.O. packs (2 and 4 wagons).
Here's a couple of them...

I know its a bit odd, but I've been collecting one particular Dapol wagon made in 2003. W T Goolden Ltd. One appeared on Hattons yesterday morning. It was gone in minutes. So annoying when you miss things like that.

The Middy Trading company arm of the Mid Suffolk Light Railway have done many PO wagons of coal traders from their area. I have a number of these dapol limited edition wagons. In 2011 the Wexford Model Railway Club in Ireland had dapol wagons done up in a possibly fictitious guise to celebrate the centenary of the 1911 Lock Out at Pierce Foundary.

Colliery-wise - seems to cover almost everything in North Wales.

Most box shifters have ordered Limited Editions from Dapol over the years - unfortunately most on a 10ft chassis, which isn't right for most PO era wagons, which would have been 9ft wheelbase...

If you are after a particular livery/company - no real substitute for regular web and ebay searches..
