Upstairs Downstairs, IOW, Sandown

Post by mattmay05 »

Hi all I have started doing some work for a model shop on the Isle of Wight recently, as I have moved south as generally it's better for model shops.

Some of you may know of Upstairs Downstairs in Sandown on the Isle of Wight, I have been aware of it for some time, and usually stock up on kits and materials, as most of my model builds use at least something from them.
They stock up to and probably over 9,000 items, mostly model railway related and most gauges, from N, 009, HO, OO, On30, O, and G, also a wide range of kits from Parkside, Cambrian, Smallbrook Studio, Copper craft, Ratio, Dapol and quite a few others Kit builders dream....
I have also been advising of other new or smaller items for detailing, Springside, Roxey mouldings, Modelmaster, Smiths ect..
Also a great range of scenery, buildings, electrics, tools, figures, cars and many others.

All the normal RTR manufacturers, and some not so familiar...
Also a good range of second hand items on display in store.

They are on social media mainly Facebook to keep people up to date on deliveries, modelling advice, and inspirational layouts or modelling projects.

Also Upstairs Downstairs have over the last few years commissioned some IOW wagons, in OO and most recently in N, and are looking at doing some more in the future.

Thought I'd resurrect this rather than start anew, just to say WOW, what a fantastic treasure trove of goodies! Loads of smaller items, bits and pieces, I spent a good hour or so in there and spent far too much, would thoroughly recommend a visit if you're on the island, I challenge anyone not to buy a single thing!

Stone station in pre-grouping days, my layout. Workbench for other projects here.

Also offering free postage on orders online now.

I still do some work for them from time to time when I am not too busy.
