NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Well that'd certainly be one way to wipe the coaling tower off the map if the load wasn't secure, such a pretty coaling stage too.

Hi all,
Due to a change in my circumstances, I will have to bow out of the tour.

That's a shame Rob, but these things happen.
Perhaps if we do another sometime ?

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Almost at the end.
Grumblebum in Australia didn't respond to a PM, and when I checked hadn't been back for a while so bypassed
Mattc6911 also didn't respond to a PM when due, so again was bypassed.
If either wants to be included we can slip in shortly, but we need to be certain that the wagon will be returned
to us after a photo session.
We have long arms to recover things if they go wrong as someone in New Zealand found out to their cost.

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
If it ends soon, then that fits the title! T'would be a good excuse to start a 2018 Tour with a new wagon.
Can we think of something new? A "working" wagon, or Engine or some other, not so rolling stock type of thing?

Anything so long as it is OO Gauge.

Something new to tour with? How about a small coach with removable roof - we could add a figure of ourselves as it does the rounds?

I like the idea of "additive" features, if you're feeling flush, you could even get one of these Modelu 3D BODY SCAN

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
The issue with a loco, (even a cheap one,) is that some people run on DCC and it's not advisable to run DC locos on these layouts for any great length of time, indeed some controls I believe do not have a DC channel. I do like the idea of a coach that we populate, a hornby 4 wheeler would be ideal

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
The Hornby 4 wheeler doesn't come with a seating unit, which would gives us a number of "places" for the tour. Perhaps someone could be persuaded to modify one so that the windows stayed in place and there were some seats.

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
How about a full size carriage, painted in maroon "works" (thus eliminating company paint schemes/liveries) that has been converted as a transport for maintenance gangs. Like the lima BR Mk1 Corridor Composite 'Engineers Dept Mess Coach' in Olive Drab or the hornby crew support crane coach in red. I am sure we can come up with some interesting stories and scenario's to place it in and its large enough for a big population list! We could make a chart to publish, showing the position of seat with everybody's name against it

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Ha ha, that's a good idea, the coach starts empty and gathers passengers as it goes! Anyone not confident to add themselves could simply add a person to the parcel for someone else to add!
Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Here is a four- wheeled coach I have started on and can be used (if interested) if anyone can print NRM on the ends.

Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
My only concern with a full size coach is that postage bumps up once you get above 30cm in length I think, otherwise, a new Norma would be welcome.
Re: NRM 2017 00 'Tour' STARTED
Standard 2nd class post for a full length coach should be no more than £2.90 at current postage rates. Same as what I paid for Guy to be shipped onwards.
