Forum Update 30th November
Re: Forum Update 30th November
yer i spotted it but its not as convenient as they used to be, its two clicks instead of the one.
If its not an easy update i will probably get used to the new way of doing things!

Currently their is only one theme while we make sure its all working.
I assume you are talking about the subsilver2 theme which was the defalt style we had on day one of the forum?
I will see if we can add this.

OK Thanks, I realise that you do have to check for major issues first. If you can re-instate subsilver2, I will really appreciate it, but I can appreciate that it may not be a priority.

I like the new layout on my iPad, it is brill for fat finger syndrome no more swiping to expand headers to select posts.

Some Spammers have sneaked in - BUT although I've deleted the spam posts
I can't find my Moderators control panel where I can permanently delete the
spammers from re-entering.
Also my thanks to those who reported the spamming posts.

On my tablet, it's worse for fat fingers.

+1
I hate this theme. I prefer subsilver and always change it when I can.
Re: Forum Update 30th November
The Private Message system is 'messed up'. It is notifying a PM in my inbox, but this is inaccessible, and so far I haven't managed to access the inbox list at all. The Sent Messages folder is accessible but very badly formatted, puts the titles vertically so instead of a compact list it runs off the screen after about four messages!
I appreciate this will be lower priority to correct than the more heavily used elements.
Regards, Paul.

Re: Forum Update 30th November
Changes are being made as I type. Hopefully this will not affect the forums running.
We are aiming to put subsilver theme back.
The notification list in on the top right shows, replied to posts, private massages and for mod it shows actions we need to take in one click.
The NRM logo will return in a smaller size to replace the phpbb in the top left, the forum advertising, and footer links.

Re: Forum Update 30th November
I second that alex3410, a lot of members don't realise just how much time and effort is put in, in the' backend' of the forum by the Team, so thanks to all.

Love the new mobile version. I do almost everything on my iPhone 6s Plus so it's great to have a mobile version at long last.

Re: Forum Update 30th November
Just getting used to the new look but I like the way it all runs more quickly (on my W10, Chrome browser). I have also just noticed the Quicklinks, which is really useful. Thanks

Re: Forum Update 30th November
Thanks - now I know what a "Notification" is - it's worked for the first time in many years.
Re: Forum Update 30th November
I have to say I regret the passing of the latests post list, now we have to drill down into each subject to find them, the Notifications only work if someone quotes you, not if they simply reply to a thread your interested in (have commented upon) never mind everybody has there own preferences
and thank you for running this site
