Introducing Swancross.... (OO Gauge layout)
Not too long ago I discovered a layout on ebay that I have to admit fell in love with pretty much from the word go. Usually when this happens I don't think much past putting it in my watch list and watching how high they go without any intention of bidding. This time however the temptation was too much to resist and I have ended up with a 10 ft long layout of course set in the Southern region! Currently I don't have the layout as it was picked up by a mate and is currently at his in the Midlands but I was able to see it a couple of weeks ago and hopefully in the coming months I will be able to enjoy it!
The layout features a station & goods yard to the left with a two road shed plus siding on the right. The level of detail has astounded me, for example, most of the buildings feature objects/people inside which are only viewable if you flash a light in.
The first 4 shots are taken by my mate (it isn't me in the first photo!) Hopefully it wont be too long till my southern stock can have a run on it!

That looks a very nice layout you have purchased there, I am sure that you will have fun operating it. Do you have plans to extend it?

For now it will be something to enjoy running as a lot of my models have yet to have a good run on a layout. Extending probably is very limited as the layout is 10ft and the room it is going on will be a squeeze as it is! I do however want to add to the fiddle yard in time as it currently is just one siding which isn't enough for me personally. Will have to look into it further when the layout arrives which has to wait for my sister to move out which at this rate is taking years!luckymucklebackit wrote:That looks a very nice layout you have purchased there, I am sure that you will have fun operating it. Kieran,
I can understand why you like it, the level of detail looks superb. Have you tried hanging a "Way Out" sign on the bedroom door as a subtle hint to your female relation?

With any luck I 'should' be getting this layout home end of June, whether or not my sister will have finally moved out is however another matter....!
