TerryB's new layout

Postby Raider » Wed Nov 22, 2006 9:08 pm

Well, Terry has asked me put some photos up of his new layout so here they are (all 26 of them). A nice mix of OO, 3 Rail and the Live Steam Mallard.

Hope I haven't missed any Terry, and I am sure you will fill people in with the details of what we are seeing

Terry
I know it's the fastest .....but why did they have to name it after a duck?

No problem Terry - glad to be of assistance. Why not share all 26 - they are worth seeing.

Keep up the work on the layout - it's coming along nicely.

Chris

hi
some nice shots, good to see the three rail pictures. i also found it useful to see some of the metcalffe buildings, for me they look good whenever i've seen them in layouts and inspires me to get more.
i also liked the shot of the mallard steaming past the trio of silos of cafferys, john smiths and another whose name isn't visible.. and in a later shot the 'ash pit'
glad to know i'm not the only one to seek warmth in a wintery attic with ale! although stopped smoking now for some months.
great pics, thanks
michael

Cheers Michael .........It's a lot more fun sitting up there, freezing me wotsits off ........with a "tinny" and choking on cig than watching the tv [I forgot all about the ashtray when I took the pics]

Naah .......all me own work [hic] .........the churchyard has the grave of one of the Irish Navvies who built the tunnel in it ......he drowned in the "silo" of "Caffreys" ........he had to get out 5 times to have a p*** ............but he died a happy man

Terry,

Thanks for the pics - it gives me something to work towards when I can get steam in the loft! Dublo was my first intro to model railways, I believe my dad still has a box somewhere - perhaps that's what I should use in the centre of my layout rather than a chinese plastic turntable! I love the funeral procession - that's possibly something unique on your layout!

Oh well, back to watching some more PVA dry from the next bit of ballasting!

Hi Terry !!!!!!!!!

What a lovey layout and what space!!
You have a great mix of 00 disciplines there. Wonderful to see the live steam. It gives me very expensive thoughts and urges.

My Best Regards

BILL.

Great stuff Terry. I was bemoaning never having seen live steam up close, but the pics are great. The layout looks like it's hours of fun. Nice one
