Post by Dad-1 »

Soon we'll be posting the list of 'N' gauge items in the 2013 - 14 catalogue.
Being 'converted' as I type to try & attach in this thread.

Remember these release will be coming out over at least an 18 month period, as it say's 2013 - 14 !!

This information released yesterday and details collected by trade/invited visitors on 10th & 11th March.
I only went today, too busy yesterday.

Go to the link in Alex's posting below this - colour pictures as well - I'm glad someone can do this sort of thing
I'm an old man lost in a young persons world !!

Don't get too excited Geoff ........
Depending on what you fancy, but I bet you have time to save for most !!

Example : Hornby announced their '00' heavy South Wales mineral tank locos at
the end of 2011. I ordered 2 in Feb 2012, and they MAY arrive next month, but
then again they might not .......... They will arrive one day .... I believe.

Who would know very approximate proposed dates of releases? I am interested in the A1 Tornado in blue and guess it is months away?
Enjoying the ride playing trains like never before. Building a model railway but not too specialised.

based on most years, thew release date is akin to sunny weather, it may come, it may not, you may wait 3 years for it ...
Whoo, new job... big pay cut... but new job! yay

Bachmann website has it down for July/Aug. Make of that what you will...It doesn't specify the year! ;)

On the subject of the catalog, I did notice that every steam loco is now DCC ready, including the small tanks. I wonder if we might see the baby shunters with decoder sockets soon, especially the 08s. I hope they pull their finger out and update the 158s & 170s soon. Also noticed some 66s are socketed but some still have the solder tabs which is a shame they aren't consistent.

I wonder if we might see the baby shunters with decoder sockets soon, especially the 08s. I hope they pull their finger out and update the 158s & 170s soon. Also noticed some 66s are socketed but some still have the solder tabs which is a shame they aren't consistent.
Personally I'd prefer that they concentrate on developing all new products rather than revist what are relatively new products like the o8 and 66 just to upgrade them DCC wise - after all it is possible, and many modellers do, install DCC in those products.
