Gauge is not spelt guage. Remember to put another "m" in remeber. Manufacturers has two "r"s in.
When you buy something, you have bought it, not brought it.
Before you post, are you really LOL and do you NEED to tell us?

Oh dear, that's £200 down the tube......
Actually, this might be just a little too expensive for me but I'm sure it'll fly. Heljan are making it - their first UK outline steam engine.

Certainly sounds good! Might have to invest in one of these, now anyone want to do the LNER one now?

I'm not one for pre ordering before a pre production model has been seen, usually. This is a very different case though, an absolutely spectacular prototype that transcends region and era, and at £200 is an absolute steal. The fact that they worked into my most local yard (Washwood Heath) and were known to work into the collieries nearby just makes them even more desirable for me, two duly ordered! I wonder if the model will match the real thing and take 60+ minerals. I need more 7 & 8 planks and 16 tonners...
My poor wallet!

Re: LMS Beyer Garratt at Hattons
Sounds attractive and, given the complexity etc, probably a "fair enough" price. But at my age I certainly don't think nor plan ANYTHING 12-18 months ahead!

Re: LMS Beyer Garratt at Hattons
'Half the engine' in the form of a Bachmann mogul like the Crab, Ivatt 4MT or K3 will easily drag 60 wagons around on level track, so an articulated loco with the equivalent of two such engine units and the potential for a lot more weight should have ample traction. It should be roughly equivalent to an all wheel drive centre motor Co-Co diesel model; most UK layouts simply cannot accomodate the maximum train load these can move. I can fill the scale half mile of my test circuit with vehicles (roughly 130 SWB minerals), and these types will start and accelerate the lot with no difficulty. Give the train a bit of a jerk and you can pull a coupler out of an NEM pocket mind...Zunnan wrote: I wonder if the model will match the real thing and take 60+ minerals. I have £220 in my saving account. In 12-18 months there will be £20. Nuff said.

Rather fancy this one myself. 47996 BR Black, early crest
The problem is not only the £199.00 price tag, but buying another 30 - 40 coal wagons for the beggar to pull. I just want a Totton - Brent coal train just like the ones I saw as a toddler passing Carpenders Park station.
Though the pristine LMS standard 4970, with the pony wheel brake looks really smart too....

Re: LMS Beyer Garratt at Hattons
Learnt about these yesterday, and I've still got a smile on my face.
Ordered 2 last night when I got home from work, one standard bunker, and one revolving. I've now got 17 months to save up for them.
Can't wait to run them along side my AD60 Garratt.
Now if I can just get someone to build a Backwoods NGG16 Garratt for me I'd be in heaven.
