Hi Richard,

Sorry to hear of your current uncertainty. Being made redundant is horrible but as someone else has said it need not be all doom and gloom as you can often retrain into a different career or start your own business.

The layout looks great, and you have obviously put a lot of work into it. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it and also appreciate the photo updates, although I don't always post on everyones thread to say so. Im sure there are a lot more silent people too.

I too am not sure whats happening with us, albeit for a different reason, were not sure if were going to move or have a house extension, and as far as the layout goes, im concentrating on smaller items or my EMU's that can be moved easily to another house if need be.

It all depends in the next two years on the success or not of our new business venture, although were more than happy where we are, but it puts the layout in limbo.

Hopefully you can work on smaller items that can be moved to a new location if need be.

Regards

Paul

Thanks amsie for advice and concerns.

Today in looking for future work as a tester if to keep a football score is am 2-0 down.
could,nt get to the 3rd firm as a major accident blocked the road caused by a black cat who sadly did,nt survive but thankfully no one hurt so called it a day after.
Started working on fitting led red tail and internal lighting to a nse mk2 dsb and another ground signal as to keep my mind ticking.

Hi Richard,

Try to keep your layout - gives something to keep you focused and loose yourself for a few hours
without just worrying all the time.
Been made redundant just 4 times in my life, but never at times like these. Be positive, prepared
to do anything and all I can do is wish you luck.

Keeping with the football analogy, Norwich lost their first match of the 2009-10 season 7-1 but went on to win back-to-back promotions. It's still early stages yet so don't give up. The right job will be there just give it time. Have you tried the CAB yet?

Nice work on the point motors - something I've realised I need to do on my layout.

Just to say i am still here for the time being and still adding bits to the layout now and then but my main aim is to seak future employment as to secure our and the layouts future.
One item added was my 1st attempt at doing a 3 aspect signal but a little work in wiring has to be sorted as one light comes on then flickers out.

Just a small update of pics showing signals and locos.

I have at the moment managed to get the 3 aspect signal working and might stress these maybe the last ones to be added for the foreseable future.

Another great set of photos and the 3-aspect signals look good. What type of switch are you using on the 3-aspects?

Good to see you are still persevering with this layout. It's too good to stop working on.

Chris
1st welcome back mate.nice hols we hope.
The 3 aspect is a hybrid on toggle switches as apart from ebay on/on/on switches are hard to come by and find the rotating ones to big, but have used a combi of a 6pin on/on wired with a 3 pin on/on switch although i found a resitor was needed between the 2.

As a start to a long weekend off i decided to have a go at building one of old oaks snowploughs from scratch and latest results so far i am happy with but will only show if and wene painted and what it turns out like.I have used 47701 as a test loco for width/height etc and hopefully it will be able to be shunted around but its prime purpose is to be a static model around the turntable.
Again i have been donated free of charge another loco in the form of vi trains 37709 although possibly wont arrive until early next week and also knowing i have only 8weeks left before a decision on the fleet may have to be reduced.

The colour light signals look good.

The snow plough sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing a photo. I like to see less common items such as these on layouts, it makes a nice change and adds some character.

All the best with your search for work.
