Bewdley - construction begins
Hi all, some of you may be aware that Ive been planning to build an N gauge layout that is roughly based on Bewdley station on the SVR.
Heres the link to my planning thread...

Ive built my table (pics in link above) and ordered my track so this weekend will hopefully be filled with plenty of track laying.
Hope i can post regular pics of the progress

If you just type in Bewdley in the search engine you should find plenty of photos of Bewdley.

I'm looking forward to this Adam, nice track plan and 10' x 3' gives you plenty of space

Re: Bewdley - construction begins
Thanks for the encouragement. Having only modelled 00 guage before Im pleased with how much I can fit in.
My track arrived today and brought a loco so will start laying tomorrow.
Garethp8873, thanks for the images. They're great. I can't get enough of Bewdley, a really interesting station to me. I'm heading up there tomorrow for another look around, I'm hoping the couple of shops will be open, see if I can pick up some second hand stuff.

Re: Bewdley - construction begins
Well its been a few weeks since I started laying track and im pleased to say its 75% complete. Here are some pictures, for those interested.
Currently Im running the layout on DC and not using cab control (i think thats what its called) so I can only run one loco on the whole layout at any one time. This is until I buy a DCC system. I used my old DC controller whilst I layed the track to ensure there were no dead spots. The layout is wired as if wiring for DCC. In theory, I should be able to simply switch controllers from DC to DCC and it should all work the same.
I would post pictures of my wiring but its to embarrasing to be shown to the public
Thanks, Adam

Looking good
Much quicker start than me, but hopefully I will get some time to get some track soon.
I will watch with interest as your layout is the same size as mine

Re: Bewdley - construction begins
Good to see progress
A question...
Can you access the back? (Otherwise won't it be awkward to get to things there?)
And an observation ...
Looking at the original track plan - the hidden sidings at the top - I was just wondering whether the points to the left could be moved nearer the left-hand side of the layout to give you longer sidings? It may be you're not going to run long trains and it doesn't matter ... just a thought

Re: Bewdley - construction begins
Thanks Dale, our layouts are very similar. You have ALOT more rolling stock than me. At the moment I have........one loco, one carriage.....
Ye I can pull the table out if I need to reach the back. But i dont plan to. The whole back half of the layout will be hidden sidings but won't be under a hill, Ill just have my backdrop covering it so i can lean over if anything comes off the rails.
I did think about extending sidings but I didn't want to buy anymore track and since my platforms will be pretty short and I'd like to model a branch line, I'd probably only run a rake of 5/6 max coaches.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
