Lordsbridge MK3 a new beginning

Hi Darren you could have a named one 73119 Kentish Mercury or 73138 they were both in dutch.Livery,73108 as mentioned but this carried the plates OVS Bullied with green nameplates Also 73131 County of Surrey with the standard red plates.I think Kentish Mercury were blue or black.

thanks ark royal, just checked the fox transfers website and they have Kentish Mercury in stock so it will be renumbered to 73119.

also i wondered if anyone knew what depot the Kentish mercury was assigned to as i want to know if i'll have to change the depot sign on the loco too.

thanks monty, the loco already has the right depot sign so thats a result so all i need to do is add the name plates and renumber it, which i've never done before anyone got any suggestions as what to use to remove the current numbers off the loco?

thanks for that monty i'll have to have a look into get one from somewhere, right seen as its a new page about time we had some pictures i think

yeah dutch is the way to go but seriously there are several heljan class 33's about in dutch livery and most shops seem to be selling the hornby class 73 in dutch rather cheap so it's a good time start getting them i think plus with the amount of rolling stock around from dapol, hornby and bachmann some interesting formations of trains can be made, i look forward to seeing your first purchase.

i did intend to do some more work on the petrol station last night but instead i had a good running section and then had a good clean which is well over due in fact after the clean i managed to get some great slow running out of the new 73's
and just for Ben here's an updated picture of the petrol stations with all the cars facing the right way



also as you can see i have added some skaledale recycling bins to the forecourt, plus i'm looking at getting some noche figures for it.

Hi Darren like your weathering.Do you varnish afterwards? The reason i ask is on a thread i read on the internet he did not reccomend it.I have not varnished mine as yet.

Right time for a little update.

Spent this morning painting the interior of my class 108, as I’m planning on buy a noch multi pack of seated people from gaguemaster to populate the DMU's and coaches as i think it will add a look of reality to them and also it helps get rid of the god awful blue plastic that the seats of the 108 are made from.

i've also made two low relief buildings for the rear of the layout.



printed a Maidstone and district bus company of the internet and added it to one of the buildings.

Now the 08641 "Dartmoor" has been out on the mainline.








As it can be seen here passing thru Lordsbridge station and you can clearly see the gap where the signal box used to be on the platform.

And finally 37421 “Strombidae” is pulling a rake of mk3 coaches in intercity livery, the coaches are on there way for an over haul.
