Passenger services are all DMU, the loco hauled stock (Voyagers thesedays, but also a lot of the New Street services after Snow Hill reopened Northwest towards Smethwick) taking the other route from Droitwich to the Lickey Incline ending up approaching New Street from the other end. Before the class 150 sprinters took over with longer haul journeys to Malvern and Hereford also seeing class 156 and 158s from the New St - Cardiff timetable rostored (later, the local class 150 services returned to Snow Hill but the 156/158s kept running from New St) the line was operated by class 101 and 108s from memory. I also remember seeing 116/117s on the line at Colwall station, but I'm not sure where those originated from (I was only 10 at the time), but rtr the latter aren't available.
Freight on that line is currently a lot of steel trains that work to and from the Brierly Hill area, its mostly in the hands of class 66 traction but the odd 60 turns up from time to time as well as the Handsworth scrap trains, also in the hands of a 66. Up until 1994 when it was mothballed, the line continued to Walsall (Bescot) so there was the possibility of almost anything turning up behind a 31, 37, 47, 56, 58 or 60. After 1994/95 the Brierly Hill workings were mostly in the hands of class 56s or 37s until the 66's made real inroads to both classes.
The Dapol telescopic hood wagons would be pretty much perfect for most of the trains. The forthcoming BDA bogie bolster and BRA/BYA covered steel carriers will also fit the scene nicely, as will a train of VDA/VGAs and Dapol Cargowaggons for finished products coming outbound. Farish also do suitable wagons for the scrap trains.
Even nowdays Kiddie is an interesting place to watch the railway, it still sees regular freight traffic as well as the passenger trains. With the forthcoming releases from Farish and Dapol you will be able to run rtr trains from the present day back to the early 80's when the SVR moved into Kidderminster.
