Plastic tubing plus
Plastic tubing plus
Surprised to find this one hasn't been posted here before - The clean used inner tubes of the transparent BICtm ballpoint pens without minute embossed characters are a useful source of small diameter tubing. Reinforced with the straighter cocktail sticks (useful in themselves) they are strong enough to be columns, etc. But it doesn't end there: the outer casings themselves can serve as the basis for heavy duty industrial columns; three cut to the desired length and positioned side to side make for a useful vertical art deco detail for those who like the style. Oh yes, and the little black caps on the end of the casings, the rounded ones without any lettering - these can make useful bollards in quayside scenes.

Do the world a favour, go round collecting up everybody's cotton bud plastic stems.

They are apparently one of the worst items for making it through filters and macerators out into the seas.
