Foldable Workbench

Postby tom92240 » Tue Jul 01, 2014 8:27 pm

Hi all,

My stepdad just bought a "Centipede Sawhorse", a foldable workbench in a bag, essentially. When he told me about it I thought nothing much of it, but with work ongoing at the West Lulworth railway having an extension on the house, the workbench in the shed is a little full at the moment so I asked if I could borrow it.

The thing amazed me! 2x4ft that came in a neat bag you could stick in the car, put a 2x4 board of ply on top and I have a perfectly good workbench in the garden (and the sun) that I could use without having to clear rubbish off the top etc! It seemed like the idea was ludicrous as the garden is uneven but the thing has several legs and so all the weight is evenly distributed etc.

I was so impressed I bought my own. I find it very useful not only for a workbench but it helps out very nicely as a BBQ table too ;)

Tom, this is a great find!

Who sells these and at what price? Do they come with the board? What is the working height?

In your opinion, could they be used (two or more) as a temporary layout?

Looking forward to your reply.

31" is the working height according to that. Bit low for normal use but could be ok for temporary.

Thanks, everyone. This looks like it could be a viable option for me.
