Many people struggle to find the right type of connectors, especially when it comes to those with lots of connections, like a dozen point motors or mimic panels etc
The standard (cheap) answer is 'D' Type, but this is limited to the size of wire you can attach and needs skills for soldering!
There are many alternatives, mostly military types and mostly expensive!
Here's a few suggestions you might investigate!
SCART = rated at 3Amps (21 pin), readily available (Maplins, etc), various options (inline, panel mount), nicely shrouded, cheap and easy to solder!
Alternately, for those who shy away from soldering...
ATX motherboard connector (20 pin)
Available in inline and panel mount, but only needs a crimping tool to make off wire ends
Food for thought........
Multipole power connections

For the scarts do check that they have as many pins as you need as not all scart leads have all the pins present.
Obviously this only applies if your using the actual scart connector itself, not the cable alone.
ATX motherboard connectors.
I can't believe I didn't think of this...I have 6 computers

Re: Multipole power connections
E2E is correct, SCART cables don't have all pins connected and the wire may not be large enough for 3Amps
I meant to make up your own cabling, not purchase ready made leads (although very tempting)
