Not at all dan8400. ;)
When I found the faller starter kit in Gaugemaster on Sunday it had a price ticket of £125.99. I didn't realise they do slightly cheaper sets so the price for the rebranded Gaugemaster starter set seemed cheaper but your correct. It isnt. :?
It just goes to reiterate what I've mentioned before. Gaugemaster is too bleeding expensive.
Thanks

I watched this too. I follow his channel. Looks like a neat system. I had seen the bicycles before but I didn't realise it would run cars too. I already use the Faller system but this could be incorporated elsewhere on the layout for a main road.

I have struggled to find where to buy it though. The website is as clear as mud (or I'm being thick).

Can't find a page with prices or how to order.

Has anyone else had more luck?

Thanks

Does anyone remember another system that went around in the 1970s (I think) the cars were propelled by a spring set tin a groove and the selling point was that you could convert any die cast car to run on the track by sticking a pin on the underside that engaged with the spring, think it could have been Matchbox that sold it.

Edit - found some info on it https://www.brightontoymuseum.co.uk/ind ... x_Motorway

E2E

If you don't like the price of Faller, consider this alternative Magnorail

Everard Junction has just installed one!

I wrote the post and never pressed send, then noticed later it was still there!

There is another German system that uses radio GPS tracking for the steering, but if you didn't like the Faller price...........

I'm not sure there is anything that will be moving cars on a budget.

I can only find the starter sets on overseas websites. The uk version of the same site doesn't show magnorail for sale. Anyway, the cost of the road vehicle starter set is €169 which is around £150. This gets you 225cm of track. Depending on your layout most people will need more than one set. I'd need 4 or 5 :o

There are pros and cons for this system and the Faller system but neither are 'budget'

Thanks

Have just successfully completed my first N scale conversion of an Oxford Diecast Southdown bus. Very fiddle as parts are very small. Unfortunately further faller conversion kits seem to be unattainable.I am Looking at alternatives such as latex mouldings with epoxy resin copies of parts and modified existing Oxford chassis. Faller products seem to be over priced as have purchased 50 micro switches for less than the cost of one faller switch!
Any advise would be appreciated especially where to obtain suitable brass gears.
