Track overload - mosfet switching ?

Postby will100 » Sun Apr 15, 2018 5:44 pm

Hi,

Have a simple current overload circuit which works well, but its uses a relay which seems to affect the dcc micro circuit at times.

Was thinking it might be better to use a mosfet, but not sure if if it needs one of each line and if they should be both N or N and a P ?

Can anyone advise please.

I wouldn't use a mosfet. A relay completely isolates your DC supply from your DCC track. A mosfet wouldn't do that. But in what way is the relay affecting the DCC micro circuit (and what do you mean by "DCC micro circuit")?

Rob
