Wagon rear end flashing LED

Postby Robmag » Sat Aug 13, 2011 11:33 am

I've found this US site selling a boxcar rear end red flashing LED kit. I fancy trying to make one myself but despite googling I'm struggling to find the appropriate bits - anyone help please, I model N gauge.

There is not much to it, it contains a button battery holder, a flashing 1.8mm led, and a battery and it looks like a switch on
one of the leads, that's it, the 1.8mm flashing led is fairly expensive as it is saying that they are new on the market, so another way you could do it would be to get a 5mm flashing led and use a bit of fibre optic cable to show it flashing out the back, may work out cheaper. Just do a google search for Flashing Led and see what you come up with.

There are lots of advertising give-away flashing buttons that could
be salvaged for the purpose - and with all the components FREE!
