This has been on the go for nearly five months but it is, now, finished. The link to the build explains the problems encountered and solutions arrived at. If you do wish to read this, you'll just need to scroll down to the fourth loco build [not difficult to find]:

If it's just pictures you want though, here are some:
A frustrating and troublesome build which, at one stage, being so fed up with it, I had decided to place on eBay once complete. I have changed my mind though and will keep it.

Re: Wills Finecast Hall
A fascinating read - almost more scratch than kit in the end, and a very nice result.
Your perseverance has been remarkable and I hope you win the competition.

Thanks for that ex-Pat. There is probably no more than 65-70% of the original kit left in the final build. But it runs well and was worth the effort.

Hi Lysander,
A real beauty, by fighting it all the way it'll have a real
personal interest - "I beat it !!" feeling every time you
look at it.

Re: Wills Finecast Hall
Since completing this build, I have changed the crew for another pair of ModelU figures, this time less stiff and more relaxed. I particulalrly like the fireman leaning out of the cab cutout.
They are not cheap, with postage they work out at £12 a pair: they are worth it, though.
