Thanks for the kind comments guys, glad you liked the build up and yes, surprising what tat lying around the house can be made into. I constantly look at the world through 1:72 scale glasses and if I see anything that looks like a shape out of the mini world, I grab/buy it :)
I will soon load a video of the project build onto YouTube for your delectation.

Great videos and lovely models of some unusual prototypes! Certainly kept me guessing for a long time!

Great work. 8) 8) 8)

In an attempt to reduce the height of project 2 (yes it was to high for my bridge as well) I thought about how to reduce the height, but unfortunately the base of the transformer is already scraping the tracks as it is! Also, the angles of the goose wings are not to my liking (I imagined they would sit with the tops parallel to the track). I cannot raise the height of the (wagon) pivot point as that will make it look even more silly, so the only option is to lower the transformer fixing points. Ironically, I have welded them on so well, I would end up causing major damage if I ripped them off. So an extension downwards has been added. The extension does not look out of place, but unfortunately, it has made little difference to the angle of dangle of the wings! Photo's to follow once the re-paint dries.

I have rebuilt and touched up the paint on the dropped transformer pivot brackets. I cant say its improved it much, but it will have to do, my patience and the competition have both run out!
So here is the final piccies of project 2

Project 2 Station 45.jpg

Here are the video's links again Project 1 Reactor special load and Project 2 Transformer special load wagon
It's been a worthwhile exercise, producing two very unusual wagons, THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS!
It also proves I am capable of scratch building wagons (albeit not to a defined pattern)

Lovely work Timbersurf and great videos!

I think that having lower the transformer, the whole assembly now looks bigger for some reason! :o

I presume you have to empty the Shot Glasses first ?
I did wonder where the inspiration came from ......

No!

You have to fill up a new one, then empty it, so it's used......

Then it is fair game as "re-use" material!
