Re: 3D Printing –Met Chesham Coaches, 4mm/OO, GN Saloon.
I still can't get over how amazing this project is, stunning work, sounds like the end is on the horizon?
Re: 3D Printing –Met Chesham Coaches, 4mm/OO, GN Saloon.
I echo flying scotsman's comments - I still find it amazing to think that these coaches came out of a printer! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Re: 3D Printing –Met Chesham Coaches, 4mm/OO, GN Saloon.
A small update on the GN / GNR Directors saloon...
Actually got round to doing some work on it, had all the parts laying round for months... so thought while I was waiting for the reprint I would get on and finish off this one. The body is prototype 2, and the chassis is prototype 3 which has revised parts for the coupling system and stronger supports for the over hangs.
So painting started last week or prep work did, and paint has been going on since Friday last week, to the point today where small detail parts are going on like the roof vents. The inside still needs to be painted, and some ideas on how to go about putting furniture in there when the time comes.
and a couple just on the layout...

Great work, and lots of credit due to you for persevering. If I may ask, which 3D printer are you using?

Excellent work, a real credit to you.
I'm interested in an N gauge version if ever you do sort out the problems!

Yes there will be an N version but not by me, will be done by someone else, no idea on time frame at the moment.

Re: 3D Printing –Met Chesham Coaches, 4mm/OO, GN Saloon.
As of yesterday the Chesham Metropolitan Coaches are now available to the public from our Shapeways shop, there are a few things to read before ordering to ensure the quality of the print: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_s5cq6 ... lQa1k/edit
The 2 coaches now available are the Brake 3rd (387), and the all 3rd (394).
I have made a small video on the coaches which you can have a look at, also will be writing up a PDF on how to finish them in the not to distant future probably towards the end of May.

Also finished but not at this time released is the first GN Saloon. A few minor bits are still to be added.

Excellent Matt, when Heljan bring out their Metropolitan Bo-Bo, I'm up for several.
I hope you're receiving adequate renumeration for all your time, and hard work.

Several? they only ran in sets of 3 lol.
Yes indeed the Heljan Bo-Bo is not far off, November / December this year... must say I am tempted but have to wait on the price to decide.
I am glad you like them, not sold any yet... even with Shapeways offering 15% off at the moment...
Just test printing the composite which was ordered yesterday.

"Several, being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind:"
That would be about three for me then.
Class work Matt, wish I had the patience, I'm still up for three though Heljan Bo-Bo, and being solvent/deceased at the time of issue could be a big influence.

Re: 3D Printing –Met Chesham Coaches, 4mm/OO, GN Saloon.
haha alright, yea 3 I think was the norm, Bluebells set had an extra comp added before it was sent down to them.
Yes a lot of patients and a lot of help, was a team effort, original design is basically the same it's just been developed over the year, was a year and 2 months to get the first one finished and running...

Composite (412) Test print arrived a few days ago. I shall be having a chat to the co-designed this weekend at an appropriate location the London Transport museum.
This model has a revised chassis, in terms of size of the battery / electrical boxes, which are now bigger, and these updates have been put on the other chassis.

There is a fixed charge on each print, and if you put 2 bogies on the same print you will make
considerable savings, especially with FUD.
