Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Hi Troopers,
Just a quicky, ass promised that Murphy port-a-cabin is now uploaded awaiting your download command. Lets see Murphy cabins dotted around your layout. (I've tucked this kit in the townscene page, couldn't quite figure out where it belongs)
Hi John, as you are aware we're more cilivised at Wordsworths & only want our workers to have the best, no leaking damp rotten sheds here...LOL
It does show what workers were given not that long ago, well lets say you just wouldn't get away with it with todays standards.
Cheers Mike.

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Hi Mike & all,
I'm having a bit of argument with my printer getting its settings right !
Can someone tell me how wide and high the front of the Single Road Engine Shed RS10 should be ? I have 90mm wide by 116mm high to the apex (entrance = 50mm wide) , is that about right ?
Or, if that one is not to hand, measure another model and I can print that one and check.
Thanks

Hi BorderShed,
Well this kit is a real blast from the past for me, one of my early designs so long back.
I had to check my original design but the measurement you gave are about right, each printer can be out +/- mm.
My original measurements are
floor to apex 115mm
width of building fascia 90mm
entrance width 50mm
entrance height 75mm
Hope this helps.

Oh yes, so it is

and I have chosen that one because the location I am modelling had an arched entrance with a stand alone water tower removed a short distance from it. Yep, I'll be doing that one later assuming that I still have any fingers left !
Thanks, that's brill., great help and such quick service

Hi Gordon
So glad you decided to share your versions of how you've adapted some of the Wordsworth kits. Truly top work & I hope they'll inspire others to post some of their builds.
I've just finished a new railwaymans cottage with rear extensions. Made this version for my own layout to sit opposite the church yard pond.
I'll upload some pics soon & the new kit to the website soon. Hope you'll enjoy the variation in cottages.
Cheers Mike

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
i cannabilised some wordsworth kits to make my own backscene
Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Thats a good look - doing your own thing is always best IMHO

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Great use of the kits there, I love the use where you've taken a basic kit then used it for something you need. All goes to show that with some individual thinking & a few simple tweaks you can obtain a look your after.
Hope these photos inspire more to show & tell, they may then inspire others who also want that one off design.
Keep up the excellent work Gents.
Cheers Mike.

My use of Mikes kits on my fictitious N Gauge layout, as you can see the locomotives are American but as I got bored with US model railroading decided to give them a spray of British Green paint, as for the kits they were all printed to 55% of the originals, still lots of work to be done on this layout.

Hi Dave,
Those photos look amazing, love how you've managed to capture that local rural look. You've managed to capture the depth with your scenery & backscene.
Keep that top work going, and thank you very much for sharing your lovely hard work.
Cheers Mike.

Thought I would just say thanks for the fee kits: here are 2 I did over the weekend. The card edges still need to be filled in with felt pen.

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
Some nice work with the kit building. Hope you enjoyed the build as much as I do designing them.
I'm surprised how popular the older kits are as I still receive lots of emails Regards these, I have to assume it's because the are nice and quick to build. So I was thinking about a revisit to these early kits & give them a face lift using some new techniques I've now mastered since beginning with Corel Draw.
Now I'm pondering on moving the 300gsm card kits into their own section or is everyone quite happy with the general feel of the website ?
I've two kits to upload before Christmas with a 3rd possible. One is the railway cottages with rear extensions & optional coloured rendered front fascia. The second is the arched wall kit, the one I used behind Wordsworth Station & between the houses in front of the Diesel TMD at North Fangore. The 3rd is a convenience store which is for extending the town scene in front of the Diesel TMD.
Next year 2018 I plan to be a little more prolific in my kit designs & uploading, with a little more time given to my layout is in order too. So there's my New Years promise.....lol
So there we go so general points , wishing everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads
I think the 4 catagories are excellent. Very easy to get to the page you want and directly to the downloads on those pages.
I've seent the NE tarps but wanted to ask, will you ever be creating blue china clay or GW / GWR tarps?
Thanks
