The wooden building in this pack is actually very good for what it is. With a paint job, window glazing and a couple of minor details, it really comes to life for a quiet, slightly run down station. I'd suggest a light grey/yellow/brown mix to give the appearance of weathered timber. The edge of the roof and window frames can be given a faded shade of the railway's colour.

The platform in the pack is of course much too short, but it's standard Hornby so works well when extended and similarly painted/weathered. A darker grey wash over the surface with a few lesser-trodden patches brushed over very lightly with green to represent mossy growth would look good.

Many thanks for your inputs gentlemen. But I need to know another dimension: the height of the platform. Thanks.

One could also 'do away' with one of the platform ramps and purchase an extra Hornby R460 platform section. Thereby doubling the platform length. Off course, for safety a piece of fencing is required along the end of the platform.
