Hi,
What material should I use for scenery fascias where the scenery meets a baseboard edge?

Re: Scenery Fascias at Baseboard Edges
Hi - I use a light plywood, (5mm Thick). Seems to have been OK so far, but my layout is permanent,

Re: Scenery Fascias at Baseboard Edges
I'd go even thinner, My scenery is supported by expanded poly blocks Then when all the mucky bits are done I use thin 3 ply. I hold it against the front of the board so it covers the frame and scenery, then draw along the ground surface with a soft pencil. Cut it to the line, and glue it in place with PVA woodworking glue and small panel pins into the frame.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

Many thanks for your reply. How do you attach your fascia panel to the baseboard edge?

Have you had any issues with the small panel pins splitting the baseboard timberwork?

Has anyone used other materials other than plywood for scenery fascias on baseboard edges?

Re: Scenery Fascias at Baseboard Edges
Thanks Mark - I use PVA and light panel pins, I have not had any issues with splitting. The reason I used 5mm ply is that I had a supply of good quality scrap offcuts that the company that I worked for threw in the bin.27016 wrote:Hi Jim,luckymucklebackit wrote:Hi - I use a light plywood, (5mm Thick).
