4mm interiors: furniture
Re: 4mm interiors: furniture
Re Model Rail August 2010 Issue
Had a look in our club library and can confirm yes it does have an article in it titled "In a Room" which goes through setting up a room including lighting. However the section on furniture concentrates on making your own master then resin casting. Suggests using plasticard and Milliput for the modelling part.
I too would like to know if there are any plastic kit parts out there that might do the job - metal casting being rather pricey. Has anyone tried 3D printing these things - probably would need a fine nozzle version to make it work.
Ciao

Many thanks for the reply Lightray.Lightray wrote:Re Model Rail August 2010 Issue

I too was really looking for off the shelf stuff, although I have made bits of furniture out of card and balsa wood.
Thanks

Re: 4mm interiors: furniture
Google came up with these. https://www.scalemodelscenery.co.uk/sho ... -oo4mm176/, but apart from a couple of stick on the wall fireplaces they were all the furniture they had. Definitely an area that hasn't been addressed, -- yet. Bit's and pieces knocked up from card, balsa and Das have their limitations.

I have to disagree!Bufferstop wrote: Definitely an area that hasn't been addressed, -- yet.
I did a bit of research viewtopic.php?f=8&t=50917&p=627184#p627184 and found a surprisingly large number of sources!
Google "oo scale interiors" and "oo scale furniture" and click images
I have seen severn models products at shows and its simply exquisite!

Re: 4mm interiors: furniture
Happy to see what I missed. I think a lot of folks will still want to make their own especially items which can only be seen through small windows where the achievable accuracy can't really be appreciated.

Hi all
What you see here may make you all cry or make you
Mr Linka had all bases covered with there fantastic building system including these nice sets of furniture made in white metal.
I bought these a couple of years ago I have the complete set a couple of times over, I bought everything they had. Before this nobody I new even knew they existed.
So now you all know about them you just have to find them
I have already made A few of the items on the 3d printer but that was a couple of years ago, before I had my current printer set-up,
I could start another division of Bushwhacker Enterprises
So please don't get your keyboards to wet from this
Get out and see what you can find they are out there somewhere

Re: 4mm interiors: furniture
Well I back doored Ebay, I bought several items from somebody, who's email address I now had from Paypal so I sent them an email asking if they had any other Linka Items, and low and behold he once had a shop many years ago and had just started to clean out what was laying around. So I cleaned them out of all they had. so nobody else knew about them. Ebay missed out on there cutEnd2end wrote:I have seen a couple of sets of these before on ebay but VERY RARELY. Re: 4mm interiors: furniture
Hi all
Here is some of the models I had done with 3D printer in 4mm furniture based on the Linka miniatures. These were done a couple of years ago on the old printer set-up.
On of you guys is going to have to do something about a printer, or I can set up something on shapeways so you can purchase these items and any others I have available.
So please leave your thoughts on this, I'll make available whatever you want.
I shall look into shapeways or equivalent UK site.

Langley do OO scale Shop interiors which could have useful stuff as well, don't know if they do home interiors though it may be worth you checking their website.

I scratched built most of mine, its very time consuming, for something that you cant really see.
Hardest part is to fill the space.
I built a few items and cast for mass production, to save on time.
