I have been buying scrapped items and bringing them back to life on my workbench.
Nothing really too difficult, but a lovely feeling smell the oil and see the sparks flying off
the wheels as they run around the layout
I have so far repaired about a half dozen, but I will start here with my 1961 Triang Britannia...

- looks like it will never run again, but for £5 worth a try

- The couplings would need a lot of repair. A new cylinder block and
return bracket was ordered from the UK. - brit.2.JPG (131.47 KiB) Viewed 1815 times

- It was clear that the tender would not require any "weathering".

- The spares arrive...

- The rust is being removed carefully

I do firmly believe in general, that to be credible railway modellers, we need to at least understand the working
principles of the real life railway, even if we are unable to put them into practice in a model form.
