My first Well tank had to go back due to a running fault, haven't had it back yet. The second Beattie hasnt turned up yet either.

Damn them, don't they know I am saving up so we can afford child number two. I might as well just filter a % of my pay check to Kernow Models

You normally get kids for free... its the running costs of children thats the kicker lol

Its the saving enough so my wife can take a year out of work again (don't agree with the "having a baby, put baby straight into child care" way of parenting) so need to stop buying train stuff - I've already reserved a load of second hand stuff and Kernow models really are not helping!

The cost of child number 1 has been way lower than I expected, maybe £25 extra a week in shopping, make full use of the hand-me-down clothes - just now my wife is back at work 4 mornings a week we have to pay £500 a month in nursery fees for those mornings... Plus of course we kept everything from number 1 (cot, pram, clothes - this is why I don't have a loft layout!).

Plus my son broke my brand new GWR horse wagon by coming into my office to find me while I was in the workshop next door... "Daddy the roof comes off" was met with some silent whimpering by me...

like I said getting the child is the cheap bit lol
It was like son when he was younger

"Daddy you didn't tell me this train has smoke"

Got my Beattie loco this weekend from Alexander Palace, absolutely love it! :D

So much detail on a small tank, but it was worth the asking price, so yes, very very chuffed with the model, though stocks are getting a bit limited on a couple Beattie locos, I'm just glad i was able to get mine direct from their stand. Dapol have done a marvelous job capturing the look and feel of the engines.

They are worth every penny. :D I have had mine doing shunting and hauling small goods trains around my layout. Which livery did you get?
