The pacer could make a nice model but i rememebr buying one new & it was awful it ran like a bag of spanners hated points, corners & just about everything. If you spent around the same price as a new one & bought the bodys from modelspares & extra detailing parts you could build a really nice model which would run like a dream.

I bought a Pacer a while back on the Bay of Fools, in the GMPTE Orange, and it takes me back to my childhood. In fact our line still has them running to this day under Northern, and they do indeed have double fold doors still. And manky bus seats. They're still cool though, although give me a 101 any day!

Still, back to the model, mine is the early 2 motor one and runs horrifically!

Thanks for directing me towards modelspares. Thats much easier than waiting for one to pop up on ebay

Missed a livery out, forgot to put in the Regional Railways two tone blue and grey.

Most of the others were in the colours of the passenger transport executives (PTE's) for the region they were allocated to.

Which one did I miss :?:

I don't recall Hornby producing a 142 in Regional Railways two tone blue and grey livery. Unless you mean 142 023 ? (see photo)

A 6car 142 set (142 012, 142 014, 142 023) leaving Manchester Victoria 24-07-1991, couldn't get the 6 cars into a single photo, so I made two instead

I actually have both the Blue Regional railways and the yellow RR pacers.

Don't know if anyone is interested but here is the old orange one.

Thanks for the link to the orange railbus, I think the livery suits it!
