Fixing track to cellotex insulation

Postby mjb1961 » Thu Oct 18, 2018 5:08 pm

Just a thought ,,,,I've been thinking of re-building my layout and I have some 100mm cellotex insulation,,was wondering if I were to use this around the edge of my layout to lay track onto and it would be good to cut away peices at the front to create rock face etc ,,but what would be the best method to fix the track onto the top ,,glue ,pins ??? ,,,,,,mjb

Laurie Calvert, (you might have seen him in the modelling press with his layout Cato's Pass, & he'll be one of the competitors on tomorrows Great Model Railway Challenge) on Youtube uses Cellotex.

In this series he sticks foam underlay to the track and then sticks that to the Cellotex. This 13 video sequence goes thru the whole process from start to finish.
