Time for an update!
I had some lenghts of Flexi going spare, so i took 4 of them and pinned them to the board, so the trackwork is complete
I bought some ballast and grass scatter the other day so im going to test them on this one.
Overall view:
A long shot:
GNER Mk4 tester coach
Im going to get the ballast on soon, when i find the time possibly the weekend, if i have the guts to give it a go and face the cold loft
Thats all for now,
Ste

From that second shot, the board appears to be sagging quite a bit, if that's the case I'd support it a bit better before adding anything scenic.
Re: Depot style track plan
Yeah it is sagging a bit, im not really that bothered to be honest, its only to test my skills, and it isnt gonna move much

Re: Depot style track plan
Ok, but bear in mind, even just scenery products can start weighing a bit after a while so don't try too many tests of skills on there
Re: Depot style track plan
Thanks for the advice mate, i think for the moment its just going to be scatters etc

Re: Depot style track plan
Coming in a bit late here with my quids worth (I believe it used to be tuppence?).
There was another thread talking about small layouts, and there was a link to shunting puzzles. This combines small layouts with operational interest.
I'm thinking of having a go at one by way of practicing/testing techniques, much as you seem to plan to do.
Just a thought.

Sounds good mate, This is going to be more of a diorama to be honest, as there is no direct link between the two tracks. But i may try and make some cassetes or similar...now that is a thought

Right, bit of an update, as i bought a bad of Scenecraft ballast, brown stuff and meduim size (its a bit too big tbh) i thout i'd try it out whilst i had nothing to do!
I also bought bag of grass scatter but will leave that for another time
It is'nt glued down yet, need to get hold of an eye dropper or something:
Any advice welcome

Re: Depot style track plan
hi ste,
i was looking at the pictures and the rails looked shiny for a depo, maybe you could weather them. also, some oil stains would be nice inbetween the rails, then it would look brilliant!!
