Hi Alex. I am doing a major relaying of trackwork on half of my layout. Then there are buildings to sort out. Whether I finish on time or not I do not know. Then I have a few personal challenges to deal with.
Anyway, you can count me in and we'll see what happens.

Everyone is welcome & the more we have join in the more projects there will be to follow, 8 was a nice minimum to make it worth the effort but no maximum (a nice and subtle hint to those reading this but still on the fence   )

so thank you Alex.

It can take some time (it really helps if people let me know when they start threads / nudge me if I miss something) but following the projects is really interesting so its worth it to see what you all get up to :D

I have added you to the list, let me know if/when you create a thread or set a starting point and I will update accordingly - I completely understand and in fact, I am in a very similar position.

I don't know if I will throw my hat in the ring or not, I will see how it goes but wanted to ensure what time I do have to spare is spent organising the competition to make sure it goes smoothly.

If I get time for my project I will add it to the list, the key point of this whole thing is its a bit of fun, this means so long as you set clear starting and ending points it does not matter if you use a 1/2 started project or in fact if you cant complete it within the timeframes.

I'm out sadly I have something in mind but no cash to do it, so will have to wait as it will be from scratch.

Well I have decided to start a new project (OMG, yes, another one) rather than submit one already halfway through.
The subject will remain secret to start with, as it is very unusual and will be fun for all, to guess what it is!
It has been at the back of my mind for many years, sparked by an article I once read (but now can't find for refreshed inspiration) and will take the form of a kit bash/scratch item. It is probably a bit ambitious, but I want to push my boundaries. I have a plan to make two. The first, I have all the bits for, but the second will require the purchase of two Dapol kits (no clue there, trust me) and a lot of clever modelling that may be beyond me.
We shall see! Nothing ventured, nothing gained, so the first will get completed (worthy of voting), the second may not get completed in time.
I am also away for a few weeks in the middle of the comp, so that might scupper the seconds progress.

I now have the vast majority of bits collected to make a start on my two projects.

They will both be.............

You will have to wait and see!

Only 3 days for the 3 who haven't named their project to come up with a title!
I am all set, bought in parts are here and most other scrap bits have been found/sourced, let the fun begin (soon) :)

Not for a couple of years at least, Parts for things are expensive, like chassis ect... so not something I will probably be doing for sometime.

Still working ahead of the official 'start'
Being club chairman I'm too busy to work within
the specified dates. We have a club room open day
on 27th May and deep in planning our main exhibition
at the end of July.

One has to show "Willing" though !!

I sympathise with the costs of parts these days. I gave up wanting some of the fine RTR models, let alone considering decent parts. Just the cost of decent loco wheels makes one have to look twice to check one has read the right price on the list!
