As far as I'm concerned everyones a winner ......... as a great group of guys.
So not all were finished, some choices were such that I didn't see how the
project could be done in the time available. On that count Matt's 2-8-2 was
one I had down as no chance ....... yet there it is !!

Well done everybody & Alex in particular for steering this through & he's not
finished counting scores yet !!

Think Geoff has a point, everyone who entered has something to be proud of finished or unfinished... least it's breathed some life in to the kit build section which is usually a bit dead. So it's worked in that respect I hope Geoff will give me my 2 front wheels back... as it was a 4-8-2 last night haha

Yes I think the voting is just a bit of fun and should be taken by us all as such. Its very difficult to rate one above another when they are cover such a variety of projects, scales, experience of the modeller etc. However, I have submitted my votes (and no I did not vote for myself  ).

I concur. Well done everyone that entered, regardless of whether time constraints allowed you to get everything you wanted done or not.

And especially well done to Alex for organising the competition. That takes a lot of commitment in time and effort too.

I almost don't want to vote as I don't think anyone is anything other than a winner but I guess I will.

My votes are in, it was hard to choose as early on I have favorites as projects were announced, then as things progressed my thoughts changed...... one thing I am sure of though, everyone should be proud of what they achieved as others have already said, there are no losers in this competition.

Roll on the next one in a month or two, just let me get some scenery down on my layout first and finish this building lol

When might the next one be? Would April be too soon? I hope not so that I can participate in it!

Congratulations all, as PNP said the votes are for fun really, all were so different they could have each won a category in a bigger contest Matt's monster has to win the award for mastery of new technology, Geoff's plane one for starting with the least promising kit, Alex for a classic kit bash and ...... I'm sure we can think of an award appropriate to every entry.

Generally its a bit more than technology.. that was the easy bit :)
The kit bodging and modification was much more challenging, and enjoyable... where's the fun in seeing something getting printed?
My little entry was more to show all skills, using all known modelling resources from new to old. :D

Well, we all more or less made it to the finish line. Congrats to everyone who has submitted an entry. I've had a look through them this morning and really can't pick out a top three at present. I will have to think on it for a day or two.

I showed them all to SWMBO this morning who said 'very good' and then followed up with ' including yours, they are all a bit boring really!' I really didn't know what to say to that. Personally speaking, every entry has its merits and I can't fault any modelling technique (not that I am in any way qualified to do so anyhow).

Thanks to Alex for getting this together and making it a success - a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Thanks guys :)

just a quick reminder to anyone who's still to vote please PM me with your top 3 using their usernames - makes it easier to tally up

Really pleased with the results, the plan was to start another in April giving us a month off  will post a thread to kick of the decision making on the topic although a 'kit build' / 'do what you want' theme has worked well for this months one might just have to repeat it!

Better get the thinking cap on for April then. The kit build option works well as it lets me work round what I'm doing on the layout but I am open to different options, of course.
