Heljan class 02

Post by D605Eagle »

Heljan have announced OO and O gauge models of a YEC class 02 shunter. One of my favorite shunters that ran on BR. I've actually been on the lookout for a gauge 12" to the foot for some time LOL nothing yet though. Rails are taking preorders for the O gauge version at £288.15. No word on OO gauge prices so far though.

That will be popular in both scales, and has that distinctive safety feature of a centre rear exit from the cab onto a platform. Think that was unique among UK shunting designs, so that bit different.

I believe we can expect not less than 100 pounds and not more than 160 pounds. I guess we have to wait for more information soon

DJH used to do a class 02 beginners kit in 00 gauge if I remember correctly? I think I have the right make.

digging deep here.....but wasn't it marketed as their "starter" kit for getting into kit building?

Yes. Their beginners kit. I only mentioned it as a possibility for those who want a class 02 if the new Heljan one does not make it to the shops.
