BR Class 35.

I'm deciding to take a break from narrow gauge and focus on already built OO scale locomotives and stock on HO scale track which I've seen multiple times online .

Does the Heljan Class 35 come with opening doors and DCC sounds?

No sound package from Heljan. The typical spec is centre motor plus flywheels with both bogies driven, DCC ready, 8 pin decoder socket and a light each end. The body moulding has fans and grilles integral, not as separately applied parts. Generous supply of user add on detailing parts in the box. It may sound a little spartan, but when the model hits the spot for body shape, (and the class 35 is very well regarded in this respect) that and the typically very smooth running chassis adds up to a model which is a good starting point for detailing or to receive further equipment. Compared to what you get for a similar spend on an U.S. HO diesel, the Heljan will probably look rather weak on value: but there it is, that's the price for this quality level in a much smaller market place...

My OO scale stuff is going to come from Antics Online because the price is MUCH lower for me due to me living in the US of A .

f it is of any help, the Heljan locos offer heaps of room inside for a decoder (class 17 excepted!) - they even leave a blank space on the PCB for the decoder to be attached with double-sided tape - and the fuel tanks are usually separate mouldings, which makes speaker installation for sound very easy. My own Heljan green D7039 has Howes' sound installed and is a superb looker and runner.

The Heljan class 35 doesn't come with sound but it is easy enough to fit Howes sound:
