How many can 'justify' running a Garratt on their layout. Main Line Midlands area with coal traffic. or is it just because its different.Sorry but sounds like kids in the toy shop. Beeman.
You wo'nt find you 'CAN' unless you 'TRY'.

Nobody has to justify anything, surely? Some people are pretty slavish about modelling something within strict limits, some are more free and easy about it. I'm building a large LMS freelance layout, not based on any prototype stations, and it's an LMS loco from the right period. That works for me.
As an aside, I wonder how many people's credit cards expire and get replaced after they place an order with these long-waiting-time orders, with the result they are rejected when the retailer comes to debit them?

That also works for me.

I had this happen to me with Hattons. They rang me up for the new card details when they were processing the order so there were no delays.

Gauge is not spelt guage. Remember to put another "m" in remeber. Manufacturers has two "r"s in.
When you buy something, you have bought it, not brought it.
Before you post, are you really LOL and do you NEED to tell us?

Re: LMS Beyer Garratt at Hattons
I used 'justify' to copy/illustrate what others have often stated when commenting on or describing ones layout stock, the usual reply being 'I'll run what I like. its my railway!.and too right.By the same token I have only Steam on the layout. I think of mine being pitched around 1947 LMS/LNER. This era around Nationalisation giving a wide scope, but most of the road vehicles are circa 1950's due to availability. I Forgot to add, built my Garratt some 30 years back from a K's kit with a 5 pole Bulldog motor, reckon about a 50 odd to 1 Romford gearset, converted to DCC about 3 years back and runs perfect. when it gets taken out of its box.Not fell apart as yet even though 'stuck' together with 'Devcon' 5 min Epoxy. From their Facebook page...
We're currently hoping for March at the moment.
They don't say which version they're expecting first though. I am waiting for "7983 in LMS Revolving Coal bunker 1938-48"
I hope to be going to the shop Monday or Tuesday and I will ask how it is progressing.

Re: LMS Beyer Garratt at Hattons
I think they're delayed due to a midland influence insisting on using their own axelboxes

Commander tear this ship apart until you have found them track plans!
