Somewhere in the USA they have a preserved railway operating with an oval of track. It makes sense if you think of it.

The Circle Line on the London Underground is of course the very first prototype. :D

And the Glasgow Underground, which for many years was two concentric circles with no points or crossings, coaches were lifted straight off the tracks into the maintenance shed and dropped back in once the servicing was complete.

They sure do; I've been. Pine Creek Railroad, Allaire NJ. Went there a couple of times in the 1990s. Caboose rides behind a little diesel switcher (they even fired up their steam loco for us when they realised they had a group of Brits visiting)!
