DB/EWS "Passenger" Train!

Postby b308 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 8:38 am

I'm surprised amongst all those modern image models I see at exhibitions that no-one has modelled this little beastie, perfect for small layouts, 4 coaches plus loco! Must get all over the country as well, though I only saw it for the first time at Stetchford yesterday, my driver colleagues say they've seen it around...

I believe Hornby released their new DVT in those colours a while back.

Modern day "Director's Saloon", needs a 3 coach train to cope with the increased ratio of chiefs to indians.

Hornby have produced the entire train in OO gauge in the EWS branded livery. DB's takeover of EWS has meant that the logos have changed and Hornby have released the DVT with the new logos.

Dapol have done the EWS loco and DVT in N gauge, but I don't think they have done the DB version

Saw this train at Kentish Town yesterday morning and wondered what it was. This thread coincidentally gave me the answer.

Now includes sleeping accommodation, in the old days they'd have just used one of the Company's hotels! ;)
