Class 68 - coming soon

This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

Many thanks for the link. Definite evolution - in appearance - of the Class 67. Thankfully none of the horror of the Class 70 body design.

Internally it seems to be pretty much an eco update to the class 67. It may say CAT for the prime mover, but who owns EMD thesedays?

I know its based on a 67, but looks more like a sex-ed up 92 to me.

Who's hired a designer to do a job on the bodywork then! Looking at the side and front elevations it's the same profile as a 67, just had some interesting curves pushed into it. If they're hoping for sales in other countries where it may be used to head passenger trains, then the less utilitarian looks could swing the deal.

Better than the 70 but still weird,The front looks more like a car than a locomotive. Not sure why, it's just curved oddly and doesn't look very nice.

The front looks somewhat similar to the face of a duck.

Seems there is going to be a change of plan here, for class 68 read class 88. Cant quite work out f this is in addition to the class 68s or a full blow replacement

They are, apparently, in addition to the class 68s already ordered, but in place of any additional 68s that could have been ordered.

Most likely. If the rumors are true and 88s do look like 68s with panto, they might be released at the same time.
