Deltic Prototype

Postby whufcfan » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:50 am

Hi all.
Travelling north on the M6 yesterday (9/8/12) I saw the above travelling south & leaving the motorway at J33. Any idea where it was going & why?

Probably going to the East Lancs Railway for their Deltic event in September, though seems a bit early!

It's now on show at the Ribble Steam Railway; it's going to be there for the next year.

No such luck! I reckon it's running out of time. ATM there are marine Deltic engines around, and correct vintage electrical gear, but if they aren't secured for a future rebuild they'll end up going for scrap and there'll be no chance of DP1 running again.

Theres already several marine deltic engines tucked away for it for the future, plus other bits. But I didn't tell you right?
