The most "recent everywhere railway" was surely the freight operator EWS (English Welsh and Scottish).

Well after LMS and before EWS came the much maligned British Rail(ways) that was certainly everywhere.

Find the railway. It doesn't reach either of the places in its title, but it used to. It starts from a station in a field and ends in another field not very far away, but it's fan club includes some big name model companies.

A good question Bufferstop. I think I know, so I shall dream and let someone else answer.

Never been there! Just had a slight guess from all the attention it's been having as of late.

I'll think of one and post it up asap.

EDIT: here is that question.

The line to Aberystwyth is now classed as the mainline, this hasn't always been the case. Where did the Cambrian railway split and where did the old mainline go? (Aberystwyth side of shrewsbury)
