April Fools Day at National Rail Enquiries?

Postby wobblybob » Thu Apr 01, 2010 4:14 pm

Just checked times and fares for the journey from Ashton-under-Lyne (Lancashire) to Upholland (Lancashire) tomorrow. Trains are hourly and journey time with a change at Manchester Victoria varies between 1 hour 27 minutes and 1 hour 38 minutes. What is the fare according to the website?
£57.00 return (singles not available) :!:
Try it for yourself.
April Fool or just another example of why passengers' biggest gripe about the railways is lack of reliable information?

Some sort of blip... perhaps it should be £5.70? Have you reported it? (If its National Rail enquiries there's contact details at the bottom.)

I checked Man Vic to Upholland and its just a fiver...

You're right  I'd do ashton to Man Vic then Man Vic to Upholland. It comes in at £6.30 - £7.50 and saves £49.50

Curiously £57 is the price of the 4 days in 8 North West Rail Rover. Reported to NRE.
